PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Pitch your tent under the shade trees just feet from the river! This site has a designated parking spot next to it. If you would like additional guests to stay, we will expand the space you are allotted. Keep the rest.

Stonefly gets direct sun in the mid-morning until mid-afternoon. Guests may want to bring their own shade June-September. Each site has a picnic table and gas fire pit and you may rent a 20# propane tank for $20.00. Stonefly is a 4-minute walk from the bath house, Wi-Fi extends to all riverside sites. There is a boat ramp in the area that all campers on the property may use.

Along with stunning views of Bighorn Sheep Canyon, Twin Bridges Campground is a bird watchers paradise. Migratory birds travel through the campground April-October. Symphonies of bird song rain down on our riverside sites. We have feeders around the sites and some of the birds are very aggressively eating from them. See how many different species you can spot!

Pinion Jays are bright and blue colored birds that zip along the property.

FIRE PITS AND COOKING (NO OPEN FIRES)
Due to ongoing wildfire risk in Colorado, open fires are strictly prohibited at Twin Bridges Campground. Please use the provided gas fire pits. Propane tanks (20#) are available to rent for $10/night or you can bring your own. Please do not screw, nail, or attach anything to the trees that may cause damage.

RIVER ACCESS
Access the river via the road behind the post office to the boat ramp. Enter the river at your own risk—rocks may be slippery and white-water conditions may occur (10% discount available with Arkansas River Tours). Colorado law requires children under 13 to wear a PFD when in the river.

FISHING
Fishing is permitted only on the south side of the river, from the fence at the boat ramp to the bridges, and is strictly catch and release. There is still some lead in the waters from the Leadville mine leak which makes the fish suspect. Lures, treble hooks, and live bait are not allowed. A valid Colorado fishing license is required. Please visit Colorado Parks and Wildlife for current rules and regulations.

PETS
All pets must be kept on a leash at all times per campground rules and Fremont County leash law. Please clean up after your pets to help keep the area enjoyable for everyone.

TRASH
Trash pickup occurs on Mondays; recycling cannot be stored on the property. A dumpster is located near the bathhouse off Highway 50. Please pick up all trash, including bottles, caps, paper, and pet waste, and follow Leave No Trace principles to protect the river.

WILDLIFE AND NATURE
Watch for local wildlife such as deer, bighorn sheep, bears, and bobcats. Enjoy birdwatching and consider using the Merlin app to identify species. Mosquitoes are common—please bring insect repellent.
